PAINTING IN KANSAS
"The Best Time of the Day"

I hope you can join me in Kansas for a three day seminar designed to provide detailed and extensive instruction in my painting methods.

We're painting a "man project" this time on a small chest. The design was inspired by an old advertising label so I'm not claiming it as my own. But it just needed to be painted.

The chest measures 12" x 20" x 14" high with a rounded top and an inside tray.

Class hours will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on each of the three days. The Wednesday prep and get acquainted session will begin at 2:00 PM on April 25, 2012.

The cost of the seminar is $250.00 which includes paint, snacks, coffee, and tea. Lodging and the price of the chest are paid separately.

The class will be taught using Chroma Interactive Acrylic paint, which will be supplied in class. Or you may bring your own Chroma Jo Sonja Acrylic paint to use. The prep work is done with the Jo Sonja Acrylic.

If you are driving and you want to do your prep work at home you will order your chest from Woodcrafts and prep the surface at home. Contact information for Woodcrafts is listed below. If you are flying into Kansas or if you want to prep your surface here in Kansas at the Wednesday prep event you will order your surface for delivery here in Kansas. The chests will be shipped separately in single boxes, ready for you to ship home. The cost of the chest is $50.00 plus shipping and you will be responsible to pay for your own order. Be sure to order your chest early so you will have plenty of time for your prep and mention the chest is for my seminar so you will get the $50 price. We are again offering the "Pay for Prep" option this year. The cost to prep the outside painting surface ready for class is $25.00. If you want us to do the prep we must have the chest here in Kansas by March 1, 2012. The "extras" for the chest including the corners, the key plate and the key, will be available upon request for an additional $5.00.

We will be painting at the Holiday Inn in Pittsburg, KS, where you can also reserve a room for your stay. Information for the Holiday Inn is listed below. Be sure to mention Country Friends when you make your reservation. There are many other motels available in Pittsburg should you prefer to stay elsewhere.

Pittsburg is about 120 miles from the Tulsa, OK airport, and about 160 miles from the Kansas City airport. If you plan to fly you will rent a car and drive to Pittsburg. If you need travel directions, please let me know.

Registration and a $125.00 non refundable deposit will be taken on a first come, first served basis. A full refund of the deposit will be made only if the seminar is cancelled by Country Friends. No other refunds, transfers, or exchanges will be made. The deadline for deposit and registration is March 15, 2012. The remainder of the class fee is due on April 5, 2012. Project instructions and patterns will be shipped only upon receipt of the full class fee.
